The Department of Life Long Learning, was established in 1985, with a thrust on poverty alleviation, equal status to women and self employment plans. The department co-ordinates and implements the programmes for the benefit of society under the non-formal system of education and has been serving the weaker sections of the society in the remote areas by the way of providing vocational education to the youth enabling them to be financially independent through skill enhancement, by carrying out the various outreach activities.
