The Department was established in 1985 with an objective of providing quality vocational education to the youth. Over a period of time, the Department has been making efforts to upgrade the different syllabi, to keep pace with changing times. these efforts of Department have brought very encouraging results as many students have been able to start ventures and have got a placement in various government and private organization.
It will always be an endeavor of the department to providing latest traning and conducive environment to the students so as to develop their talents in the best possible ways. To showcase their talents an exhibition of their artifacts in conducted every year.
The Department of Life Long Learning, was established in 1985, with a thrust on poverty alleviation, equal status to women and self employment. The Department plans, co-ordinates and implements the programmes for the benefit of society under the non-formal system of education and has been serving the weaker sections of the society in the remote areas by the way of providing vocational education to the youth enabling them to be financially independent through skill enhancement, by carrying out the various outreach activities.
