A career in fashion is referred to as fashion designing which is the art of inventing/innovating or adding beauty to clothing by using certain accessories. The job of a fashion designer includes sketching fashion ideas, cutting out and sewing the clothing item, attending fashion shows, using tailoring skills to perfect the fit, drawing patterns to create garments, selecting fabrics and any special additions for the outfit and reading magazines to keep up with the latest fashions. Hence, a strong business sense plays an important role in the successful career of a fashion designer.

Fashion illustration also known as fashion sketching is the art of communicating fashion ideas in a visual form with the help of different medium of coloring.
Surface ornamentation is a skill which adds immense beauty and enhances the look of a garment incorporating fabric manipulation ,basic, traditional and decorative stitches of embroidery by using different materials like beads, threads, sequins, mirrors and buttons etc.
Sewing is the art of designing cutting, fitting and finishing of clothes for kids wear:- A-line frock, Romper, formal and casual frocks, Night wear etc Adult wear:- Letest trending and innovative desinging in women wear(Dresses, Salwar kameez, Blouse etc.)
Drafting and pattern making is an art of manipulating and shaping a flat piece of fabric to conform to one or more curves of a human figure. It is a bridge function between design and production.
The conceptualisation and development of intricate design details of a fabric are the work areas of a fashion designer. There are various job profiles for fashion designers after pursuing a fashion designing course, however, taking a job will depend on your interests and skills
